Garam Masala 70g Spice Blend

Garam Masala 70g Spice Blend

Garam Masala 70g Spice Blend-The Finishing Spice That Makes an Indian Dish Taste Complete

Some spice blends build the base of a dish.

Garam Masala is different.

Traditionally added towards the end of cooking, it brings warmth, fragrance and depth to a finished dish without needing long cooking.

SpicenEasy Garam Masala combines warm aromatic spices including cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves in one carefully balanced blend.

Instead of buying, toasting, grinding and balancing several individual spices yourself, you can add a spoonful or even just a pinch when your dish needs that final layer of aromatic Indian flavour.

Use it to finish curries, dals, lentils, biryanis, soups and stews, or experiment with it on roasted vegetables, grilled meats and even warm drinks.

Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) Recipe

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 15 mins (+ 2+ hours marination)
Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

For Chicken Marinade:
  • 500g (1 lb) boneless chicken (thighs or breast), cut into pieces

  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder (for color, less heat)

  • 1 tsp garam masala(SpicenEasy)

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • Salt to taste

For the Gravy:
  • 2 tbsp butter + 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1½ cups tomato puree (or blended fresh tomatoes)

  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ cup heavy cream (or cashew paste for dairy-free)

  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar (to balance acidity)

  • ½ cup water

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi), crushed

Final Touch:
  • 1 tbsp butter

  • ½ tsp garam masala (for garnish)

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Chicken:

  1. Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl, coat the chicken, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).

  2. Grill/Broil: Skewer and grill/broil chicken until charred (10-12 mins at 200°C/400°F). Set aside.

2. Make the Gravy:

  1. Heat butter + oil in a pan. Sauté onions until golden. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.

  2. Add tomato puree, chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until oil separates (~8 mins).

  3. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste (optional for silky texture).

  4. Return to pan, add garam masala, cream, honey, and water. Simmer for 5 mins.

3. Combine & Finish:

  1. Add grilled chicken and simmer for 8-10 mins on low heat.

  2. Stir in crushed fenugreek leaves.

  3. Garnish with a dollop of butter, a sprinkle of garam masala, and cilantro.

4. Serve:

  • Best with naan, basmati rice, or paratha.

Why Garam Masala Shines Here?

Warming Spices: Garam masala (a blend of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, etc.) adds depth and complexity to the gravy.
Aromatic Finish: Sprinkling garam masala at the end enhances fragrance.

Why Choose SpicenEasy Garam Masala?

A finishing spice, not just another curry powder
Garam Masala is traditionally added near the end of cooking so its fragrant aromatic notes remain noticeable.

Multiple aromatic spices in one balanced blend
Instead of measuring cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and other spices separately, the balancing has already been done.

A little goes a long way
Often, only a small amount is needed to give a finished dish noticeably more warmth and fragrance.

Transforms dishes you've already cooked
If a curry, dal or stew tastes like it's missing something, a pinch of Garam Masala can add another layer without rebuilding the whole dish.

Useful far beyond curry
Try it with vegetables, meat, soups, rice, chai and even selected desserts.

What Does Garam Masala Taste Like?

Garam Masala is warm, fragrant, earthy and gently sweet, rather than being primarily hot.

Cumin and coriander provide an earthy base.

Cinnamon contributes sweet warmth.

Cardamom brings a floral fragrance, while cloves add a deeper aromatic intensity.

The result is a complex blend designed to give food aroma and warmth rather than simply chilli heat.

How to Use Garam Masala

Finish a Curry

Add a small amount during the last few minutes of cooking, or sprinkle over the finished dish before serving.

This helps preserve the fragrance of the aromatic spices.

Dal & Lentils

Stir into cooked lentils just before serving for extra warmth and depth.

Biryani & Rice

Add a little to biryani, pilaf or spiced rice to reinforce the warm aromatic flavours.

Chickpea & Vegetable Dishes

Use to finish chickpea curries, potato dishes or mixed vegetable curries.

Roast Vegetables

Toss cauliflower, potatoes, carrots or pumpkin with oil and Garam Masala before roasting.

Chicken & Lamb

Use lightly as part of a rub or marinade for chicken or lamb before roasting or grilling.

Why Add It at the End?

Many spices are cooked early in a recipe so their flavours can develop in oil.

Garam Masala is often used differently.

Its aromatic spices contain delicate fragrant notes that can become less noticeable when cooked for a long time.

Adding it towards the end helps retain more of that aroma.

That's why you might make an entire curry using other spices first, then finish it with Garam Masala.

Think of it as the final layer rather than always the first.

An Easier Way to Create That Final Indian Flavour

Making your own Garam Masala traditionally means selecting, measuring, often toasting and then grinding several whole spices.

SpicenEasy Garam Masala gives you those flavours already brought together.

One blend. Multiple aromatic spices. One simple finishing step.

Cook your dish your way.

Then add Garam Masala when you want extra warmth, fragrance and depth.

Try It This Way

Next time you make a chicken curry, lentil dal or chickpea curry, cook the dish as usual.

During the final few minutes, stir through a small amount of Garam Masala.

Taste before adding more.

Then sprinkle a little over the top just before serving if you want an even stronger aromatic finish.

Beyond Curry

Once you've opened the pack, try it in:

• Dal
• Lentil soup
• Chickpea curry
• Biryani
• Pilaf
• Roast potatoes
• Roasted cauliflower
• Pumpkin
• Chicken marinades
• Lamb dishes
• Soups and stews
• Chai
• Hot chocolate
• Rice pudding
• Poached fruit

It's one of those blends that can become an everyday finishing spice once you start experimenting with it.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place to protect its aromatic flavour.

Desserts: Add a hint to apple pie, poached pears, or rice pudding for a warm, spiced twist. Meat & Poultry: Rub on chicken or lamb before grilling or roasting. How to Use: For the most authentic results, add a generous pinch at the very end of cooking or as a garnish. Avoid frying it for long periods as this diminishes its delicate aroma.
