Unlock the Potential of the Humble Mung Bean

Looking for a nutritious, affordable, and easy-to-use legume? Spice n Easy's Whole Mung Beans are a kitchen powerhouse waiting to be discovered. Their versatility is unmatched—they can be used from their whole form to a split and hulled version (moong dal) to a nutritious sprout.

Why Choose Mung Beans?
They are a cornerstone of Ayurvedic cooking, prized for being tridoshic (balancing for all body types) due to their easy-to-digest nature. This makes them an excellent introduction to pulses for those who sometimes find other beans cause discomfort.

How to Use Whole Mung Beans in Your Kitchen:

  • Home Sprouting: The most popular use! Easily sprout them at home in a jar to create fresh, crunchy mung bean sprouts for stir-fries, salads, and sandwiches.

  • Hearty Soups & Stews: Cook until soft in broths with vegetables and spices for a nourishing and comforting soup.

  • Creamy Dhal: Simmer with turmeric, ginger, and cumin to make a simple, soothing, and yellow "Moong Dal."

  • Indian Curries: Use in place of chickpeas or kidney beans in curries for a lighter, quicker-cooking alternative.

  • Salads & Bowls: Cook until tender but intact, then cool and add to grain bowls and salads for a protein boost.

  • Sweet Dishes: In some Asian cuisines, they are cooked with sugar and coconut milk to make a sweet dessert soup.
