Braai Rub 50g
Bring the Spirit of a South African Braai to Your Kiwi Backyard
More than just a BBQ, a "Braai" is a South African cultural institution—a social event centred around open-fire cooking and robust, savoury flavours. Our authentic Braai Rub captures this essence with a bold, smoky, and herbaceous blend designed to create a perfect, flavourful crust on meat over the flames.
We combine smoked paprika for that essential fire-kissed aroma, earthy coriander seeds, aromatic herbs, and a touch of chili for depth. This rub isn't about extreme heat; it's about building layers of savoury, smoky flavour that complement the natural taste of quality meat, making it a perfect match for the Kiwi love of outdoor cooking and great produce.

Culinary Inspiration: How to Use Braai Rub
Master the art of the Braai:
-
Classic Braai Meats: Generously coat ribeye steaks, lamb chops, or chicken pieces before grilling.
-
Boerewors Sausages: The perfect seasoning for authentic South African sausages.
-
Vegetables & Sides: Don't forget the veggies! Toss corn on the cob, mushrooms, or potato wedges in oil and a sprinkle of rub before cooking.
-
Quick Weeknight Grill: Elevate simple pork chops or chicken breasts in minutes.
How to Use: For best results, generously coat your meat in the rub and let it rest for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavour) before grilling over hot coals or gas.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container in a cool, dark, and dry place to protect its smoky aroma.
