Pan-Seared Steak with Steak Seasoning
Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins | Servings: 2
Ingredients:

2 ribeye or New York strip steaks (1–1.5 inches thick)

1–2 tbsp steak seasoning (SpicenEasy)

1 tbsp olive oil or high-smoke-point oil (avocado, grapeseed)

2 tbsp butter
-
2 garlic cloves, smashed (optional)
-
2–3 fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional)
Instructions:

Prep the Steak:

Pat steaks dry with paper towels (key for a good sear).

Rub generously with steak seasoning on both sides.

Sear the Steak:

Heat a cast-iron or heavy skillet over high heat until very hot (~2 mins).

Add oil, then place steaks in the pan. Sear undisturbed for 3–4 mins per side for medium-rare (adjust for thickness).

Add Butter & Aromatics (Optional):

In the last 2 mins, add butter, garlic, and herbs. Tilt pan and spoon melted butter over the steak for extra flavor.

Rest & Serve:

Transfer steak to a plate, tent with foil, and rest 5–10 mins (keeps it juicy).

Slice against the grain and serve.

Don’t skip resting—this keeps the juices inside.

For perfect doneness, use a meat thermometer:

Rare: 120°F (49°C)

Medium-rare: 130°F (54°C)

Medium: 140°F (60°C)

Would recommend that they package it in 100g bags. Very good value, was as pictured and arrived in perfect condition. the only thing I'm not happy about is that I had to get it delivered to a friend's address because the courier company used by Spice n Nice designated our address as rural whereas in actual fact it's urban. If Spice n Easy were flexible and used NZ Post, I wouldn't have had a problem.
