Recipe for Polenta(Corn Meal)

Creamy Basic Polenta (Serves 4)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coarse-ground cornmeal (polenta)

  • 4 cups water or broth (for flavor)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil for vegan)

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil liquid – Bring water/broth to a boil in a heavy pot. Add salt.

  2. Whisk in cornmeal – Gradually pour in polenta while whisking to avoid lumps.

  3. Simmer – Reduce heat to low, stirring frequently for 25–30 mins until thick and creamy (if using instant polenta, cook per package instructions, ~5 mins).
