  • ½ cup amaranth seeds (rinsed)

  • 1½ cups water or milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (for sweet version)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • Toppings: fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, yogurt, or nut butter

Instructions:

  1. Rinse amaranth under cold water to remove bitterness.

  2. Cook: In a saucepan, bring water/milk to a boil, then add amaranth, salt, and cinnamon.

  3. Simmer on low heat for 20–25 mins, stirring occasionally, until creamy.

  4. Sweeten & serve: Stir in honey/maple syrup and top with your favorite toppings.

Savory Option: Skip sweeteners and add garlic, herbs, cheese, or sautéed veggies for a hearty meal.

  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp chia or flaxseeds

  • ¼ cup dried fruit or chocolate chips

They are soo small they did not pop they piffed, I found them to too small as a popped snack. SUPER tasty though when cooked with liquid - aqua, stock or in milk as a porridge or dessert. A delicious new staple for the pantry, thanks SpicenEasy :-)
